This week at LIM the LIMettes are challenged to use acetate!!!! OMG - I've only ever made one card before using acetate. It was OK but nothing special. But I thought I can't really just pick and choose the weeks I want to enter (well I suppose I could!) so I gave it a go and this is my card.
TBH I ruinied it when I added the glitter to the dress (which was a last minute idea after I had stuck the circle to the acetate!) but hay ho, I wasn't going to start again as it took me ages anyway getting the right part of the stamp in the circle and sticking the gems on!! I won't make that mistake again!
Thanks for looking.
I've done that; changed something at the last minute that I don't like. :(
ReplyDeleteHowever your really did a marvelous job on the challenge. The placement of the gems must have taken forever, and its absolutely perfect!!! I really like the offset bride, very unique,

I disagree Donna, I think the glitter ads a dimensional aspect to the dress (well from the photo it does). I love the layout of the card and for an only second attempt at acetate you should be well chuffed. Its very stylish.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, your card is gorgeous, I love the fact that it's not centered, just very stylish. As for the glitter it's fine, well it certainly looks great to me:0)
ReplyDeleteI have used acetate before and I learned that to make a card wholly of said stuff it has to be thick and mine is, LOL. I'm finding these challenges a whole lot of fun, hope you are too!!! :0) xxx
so elegant .. i think you did a great job.
ReplyDeleteIf your stamp is older than 6 months you can enter the wedding challenge at Oldie but a goodie

ReplyDeleteA very elegant card Donna! I love the offset circle and I think the glitter gives texture, tho I did think it was flock from the photo!

A beautiful card - the glitter gives the sense of movement to the dress rather than just being flat and those gems are just perfect

ReplyDeleteIt's ALWAYS the very last thing goes pear shaped, but your card looks fab and I love the design!
ReplyDeleteWe also appreciate the fact that you didn't just pick and choose the challenges you fancied, but rose to the challenge of doing the more trying ones as well! Thanks so much for that!
Have a great week Donna.

A beautiful card Donna. Very stylish. Sue.x
ReplyDeleteLove your card Donna, such an effective design
ReplyDeleteI don;t know what glue you used, but the best is Art Institute, one dries clear and one white, you can buy a fine nib for accuracy. It would give a smooth finish....hope you don;t mind me saying
Thanks so much again Donna

Oh, I don't think you ruined this at all - I love the bride's dress.
ReplyDeleteI think it's clever how you off set the circle and added the gems. It makes it much more interesting.

Fantastic design. I love it. I don't think it's ruined but perhaps we generally say ruined when things don't go as planned or as initially envisioned; happens to me a lot, actually. I remind myself that these are perfect opportunities to be creative. :-)
ReplyDeleteLet me say it again, fantastic design!!!!
cheers,

This is just beautiful, Donna- so elegant!! :) I, too, love the off-set circle- the gems are a fab touch- and think the dimension from the glitter is a good thing... though I know how you feel as I'm always doing 'one last thing' then wishing I hadn't!!lol
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that this challenge has so many of us actually giving things a go that we'd normally run screaming from, isn't it!?! :)
