Pick a Petal

I went to a card class on Saturday held by the lovely Victoria (Blue Jelly). All the cards were made using the pick a petal stamp set from Stampin Up. These are some of the cards we made.

This ladybird one was my fave :))

I also collected my club order so I have some lovely new things to 'play' with including a crop a dile bought for me by my lovely hubby for my birthday tomorrow. I've got a big bite already but it's so heavy! Great for scrapbooking but a bit too bulky for cards so I'm looking forward to having a go with it.

Back to work tomorrow for me after 5 weeks off :(( I'll still try and blog regularly so be sure to pop back soon :))

Thanks for looking.

More of the Same

I posted a card for my Less is More entry the other day and I liked the simplicity of the card so much I decided to make a few more but with different colours and images.

This card design is so simple and so versatile too. As you can see, it is suitable for males and females just by changing the image and the colours of the card. I will defo be making a batch of these to keep in my draw at work! All the images are from Stampin Up's 'Every Little Bit' set.

Best Wishes

One of my work colleagues is having a birthday the week after next and I am trying to get ahead of myself a bit so I have made her this card ready for the big day!

I love the rose paper (I think it was from Hobbycraft) and only have a bit left now but the stampin up sahara sand cardstock goes perfectly with it! The stamped image is from Marion Emberson and I have just sponged a bit of sahara sand ink around it. The best wishes sentiment is a Penny Black stamp.

Less Is More week 29

This week over at Less Is More, it is 'Theme' week and the theme is something that moves. I'm sure there will be a lot of butterflies featuring on cards this week as they are very 'in' and of course they move! I am no exeption and my butterfly is from the Stampin Up Bliss set from sale-a-bration.

I have used rich razzleberry and regal rose inks and papers and the sentiment is from the 'So happy for you' set also from sale-a-bration.

I am on my last weeks holiday from work now and am not looking forward to going back :(( Never mind, if I want to keep buying stash then I suppose I'll have to go back lol!!

Thanks for looking.

Embossed card

As part of the stampers 10 club with the lovely Victoria, once a month one of the ten ladies receive with their order, a free gift from Victoria. Last month I was the lucky lady and received the Manhattan flower embossing folder. This is the first card I have made with it.

The pics aren't great - it was really bright in my room this morning! You can see from this 2nd pic though just how deep and clear the impression is - fabulous! Thanks Victoria!

Less Is More week 28

I haven't entered the Less is More challenge for a few weeks now and thought it was high time I got myself into gear and entered! This week is a one layer card using inks in a way you haven't used them before. I did do something I haven't done before but I haven't used inks I've used chalks - I hope I'm still allowed to enter?? Anyhow, I have had these chalks forever and decided this was a good time to give them a go. I used the teeny cotton wool type balls that came with them to put the chalk onto the card using a nestie as a rough guide for the area I wanted to cover. I then simply stamped the tree over the top and then added the sentiment (the right way up! - the first one I did was upside down doh!!)

The tree is from the Kanban stamp set Spring Silhouettes and the sentiment is from Heard from the Heart from Stampin Up.

Too Cute!!

Here are the cute teeny weeny bags that I promised to show you. I can't give credit to one person because there are loads of blogs with these on and they are soooo simple and quick to make. I am going to make a batch to give to my friends at work on my birthday instead of taking cakes in.

Pop back tomorrow for my Less is More entry!

Hershey's Nuggets Bags n a Box!

I promised to show you some cute little bags and a lovely box I made containing Hershey's nuggets - cute little chunks of gorgeous chocolate!

The bags are made following a video tutorial by Chic n Scratch which you can find here. The bag holds 2 chocolates and the box holds 4.

I put this stampin up ink spot ink pad in the pic to show you how small the bags are!

The matchbox style box was made following these instructions.

I have some even smaller bags (too cute for words!) to show you tomorrow so please pop back.

Thanks for looking.

Mojo Monday 203

I'm just in time to enter this card into Mojo Monday 203 - link closes at 8pm!! It was a lovely sketch to follow and came together really well. As I put my sentiment on the scalloped circle I decided to add some liquid pearls where the sentiment was meant to go - hope this is allowed?? I haven't used my liquid pearls in forever!

You may have seen on lots of American blogs Hershey's nuggets gift boxes n bags - well you can now get Hershey's in England! They're fab little nuggets of chocolate - yummy!

I've had a go at making some of the teeny boxes and bags as they will make great little gifts and I'll share these with you tomorrow so please pop back and take a look :)

Girly Birthday

Hiya - I made this card a few weeks back for a friends friends daughter. She was going to be 7 and wanted a card with her name on and quite girly. This is what I came up with and my friend loved it! Let's just hope Coral did too!!

Birthday Banner

I made this card for my brother in law a few weeks back and thought I would share it with you today.

I have seen a fair few cards recently with bunting on and wanted to have a go. I decided to do it slightly different by not making triangles. It took quite a while making those little shapes but I think it was worth it - and BIL liked the card so that's good!

The 'string' is actually Twistel from making memories which is a paper yarn. I stuck that on to the base first and then raised all the blue banner bits on dimensionals.

Top Note Die Box

I am part of a Stampin Up stampers 10 club run by the fabulously talented Victoria and each month we get a make n take along with our ordered goodies and online instructions how to make it up.

In July I received this fabbie kit and made this lovely box yesterday. Victoria supplies all the pieces you need and you can ink, emboss, stamp however you choose. I embossed a couple of the flower layers with a polka dot pattern and inked most of the edges with crumb cake ink and then just layered up the flower with dimensionals.

Pretty cool huh?!

I think the top note die will be on my shopping list this month!

Black on sponged ink!

I wasn't quite sure how to title this one lol!!

I have seen quite a few cards similar to this one and thought I would give it a go. I don't have any fancy sponges so I just cut up a 25p bath sponge and used pieces of that to sponge ink onto the card before stamping the black flowers over the top.

For my first attempt I think it turned out ok :)

I'm going to make a few more using different colours and will post those in the week, so please pop back and take a look see.

1st Birthday

One of my longest (I won't say oldest ha ha!!) friends has a little boy who will turn 1 on Friday. Hard to imagine having a one year old again as my youngest is 13 and I must say its a lot easier now!

Anyhow, I have made this card for Adam

It was really quick and simple but I think simple is best for a one year old really as he'll prob just chew it up anyway! I remember mine used to chew and rip anything and everything at that age!
