Craft Room

CRAFT ROOM!!!!

OMG - My wonderful husband has finally decided that it is OK to chop a bit off lovely step-sons bedroom to make me a craft room!!

His room will still be about 10ft x 13ft and my room will be about 61/2 ft x 13ft so, as you can see, his room was really big! And this will be a LOT cheaper than moving house!!!

I know its gonna be a while till we can get it done cos we have a few projects that we need to complete first but hopefully, by about Easter, I will be up and running woo hoo!!!

I will defo get back into blogging in a serious way then too because it is gonna make my life soooo much easier. I can't wait!

I don't know if anyone has been checking my blog anymore but hopefully when I'm up and running properly, I will get some more followers. I'm still making cards and will try to post now and again.

Until then, thanks for buzzin by, Donna x

Wedding Card

Hello, this card is for my step-brother who is getting married in September. It is based on a card that unfortunately, I now can't seem to find! So, thank you to whoever made the original.

It's a very simple design but extremely effective.
I love it - hope the bride & groom do too! Let me know what you think.

Last 3 Birthday cards

Well, here are the final 3 cards from my selection of 10 for a friend.

The first 2 cards are made using Nikki stamps from Ladybug Crafts Ink. I love these stamps.

Close up of lovely Nikki.

Simple layering and a few gems along with a die cut strip add interest to this card.

This is my attempt at making a card without a stamp. I don't do too many of them but I think this turned out OK.

Even more Birthday cards!

Evening bloggers. Here are the next 3 cards.

My good friend Laura gave me this die cut shape a while ago and I based this card around it (being purple!)
I get a lot of inspiration from Julie's blog. Her cards are amazing and are very much CAS which is my preferred style.

This card is made using some simple strips of green card with some small flower outline stickers, a simple sentiment sticker and some ribbon.

This card is suitable for a male and, again, is very simple. The cat stamp is coloured with Promarkers as usual and was matted onto some dotty blue and white paper. A little white ribbon adds a little interest but is not too girly :)

I have just 3 cards left now which I will post tomorrow.

More Birthday cards

Hi there, here are 2 more of the 10 mixed cards I made for a friend.

This 1st one is almost copied completely from a card in an old card magazine that I was flippin through. The stamps were free on the cover and I coloured them with Promarkers.

This 2nd one is quite simple again - I do love the more simple looking cards. This is an Anya stamp coloured with Promarkers. A little bit of ribbon from my stash and a couple of gems finish this card perfectly - I think so anyway!

Another 2 tomorrow. Thanks for buzzin by, Donna x

Birthday cards

These cards are for a friend who asked me to do a selection of 10, mainly female birthday cards. These are the first 2 and I'll post 2 a day over the next few days.

These cards are very simple and are both made with a pearlised blank card base with just a few little bits added and a sentiment stamped with Stazon ink.

I love the CAS style - I hope my friend does too!!

Baby Boy

Hello all. Sorry I've not been around for a while! I'm off work for the summer hols but I only get 4 weeks this year and I've been making the most of them!

I've completely gone from one extreme to the other though and I've made 11 ... yes 11!! cards today. This is the baby boy card for one of my bestest friends ever who gave birth last week to her first baby. Seems wierd to think of her having her first and my youngest being 12!! And she's only 6 months younger than me! We all do it our own way though eh??!

I've used my FF baby stamp which I love and some cute paper from my local craft shop. A few teeny gems in the corners and the sentiment is from Pink Gem Designs.

The other 10 cards I've made today, I will post during the week.

P.S. I changed my profile pic too cos I got my hair cut!!

No card!

Evening all - sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been mad busy what with weddings, babies and visiting family! Good job I'm off work at the moment!

This is the gorgeous bride with her husband whose cards I made in the previous posts. They both loved both the cards I made (cos I gave them both of them) and I have already been requested to make anniversary cards for next year lol

The wedding and reception were both amazing. My husband and I stayed over and our room was upgraded - lucky us :)) The reception was at The Ringwood Hall Hotel in Chesterfield. The place is fantastic and the staff were fabulous.

One of my best friends had a little boy last week so I will be making a card soon, but tomorrow I am off to see my mum who lives on the east coast and on Tuesday, my younger sister is coming over from Wales ... so pop back later in the week and (hopefully) I will have prepared the new baby card!

Sticky Blobs!

Yesterday, my daughter Chloe and I made 'sticky blobs' - they turned out great so I thought I'd share.

Cooling down

Close up
They are a bit like a rock cake in that they are a bit firmer on the outside and all soft and yummy in the middle - and then a lovely dollop of jam baked in the centre! Yum!

Wedding card No. 2

Evening bloggers, today I have made the second card for my friend Charlotte who gets married this Friday! Those of you who read my blog will know that I made a card that I wasn't entirely happy with. I much prefer this one - what do you think? I stuck all these gems on individually onto acetate using a print out of the letters as a guide. I have used white patterened papers and chocolate brown cardstock, lots of bling and a pink heart-shaped 'love' brad to add a teeny splash of colour.

This is the sentiment I have put on the inside.

I will probably give them both cards but I defo like this one best.

Wedding

My friend Charlotte is getting married soon (July 30th). For the first part of her hen night, on Friday, some of us girlies went for a spa evening at Centre Parcs ... OMG AMAZIN!! I loved, loved, loved it and will most definitely be going back at some point.

I've made a card ready for the Big Day but I'm not sure I like it. I'm going to make another one this coming weekend and then decide which one I like best. What do you think of this one?

I went with the brown and cream colour scheme because Charlotte has hinted that this may be the colour scheme for the wedding (although I think the bbrown will be much lighter) but I'm not sure I like this for a wedding card? I think it's too dark and the next one I make will defo be lighter.

Anyhow, thanks for buzzin by, Donna x

Good Luck

We break up on Friday for the summer holidays (I work in a school) and a few of the teachers are moving on to pastures new. One of them I will miss so I made her this card to say goodbye and good luck.
A real simple card but hopefully she'll like it!

Baby Boy

I've done a few baby cards recently! Must be something in the air lol. So without further ado here is a baby boy card for Angela to give to one of her many pregnant friends.

I used my cute FF bear stamp coloured with Promarkers (what else?!!) and some papers from my local craft shop and a few blue gems to finish. I really like this simple design.

Leaving Baby Card

A lovely young lady at work is leaving to have a baby so my good friend Angela and I have got her a gorgeous little dress and I made this card for us to give her too.

Papers used are from gcd studios, nesties to cut out the scalloped circles, Promarkers to colour the gorgeous stamp and ribbon and gems from stash.

Entered into Get Sketchy #47.

Sweet Candy from Pink Gem

Over at Pink Gem they are giving away this lovely candy. Why not pop over and sign up for a chance to win!

Thank you Teacher

Another card made on Sunday, but I thought 3 posts in one day was enough so I scheduled this one for Tuesday 4pm - hope it's worked!

This is for my friend Ang's daughter to give to her teacher as she is leaving Primary school as she starts 'big' school in September! Such a big step! My daughter has almost finshed her 1st year at secondary school and I think she's enjoyed it!!

The card is for a male teacher which is why I went for these papers from Papermania's Hampstead range and kept the layout simple and also because it's from a child of 11!
I used letter stickers for the thank u and then little letter stamps for the word teacher. I finished off this card with some teeny black glitter dots.

Birthday Bentley

This next card was requested from another work friend. She asked for a card with a Bentley for her husbands birthday. I found this picture by doing a google search and was instantly drawn to it because of the lovely colours. They go so well with these papers from The Natural Stack and The Linen Closet from DCWV.
I added some copper/brown ribbon and a computer generated sentiment.

Entered into Get sketchy #46

1st Anniversary

Almost a year ago I started making cards and one of the 1st ones I did was a wedding card for my friends sister. She has asked me to make a 1st wedding anniversary card and this is what I came up with.

I used some My Minds Eye papers that came free in Augusts issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft and some cute little heart stickers from Papermania. The little squares behind the hearts were made with the smallest nestie from my latest set.

Baby Girl

I didn't get chance to post my cards yesterday as I had a busy busy day! Wasn't it a lovely day again? Where's the sun gone today I ask? It's rainy here in Nottingham today and it's gone quite cold too :((

Anyway, on to the cards. This first one is made using a gorgeous FF bear coloured with Promarkers. I used a MS punch and some gorgeous paper with babygros and bibs on that I bought just a single sheet of from my local craft shop. I might have to get some more!

Some gorgeous teeny gems to finish off.

Forever Friends Birthday Card

Post 2  for today.

This card is for my BIL whose birthday is next weekend. Entered into Card Patterns sketch #71. I was going to enter into FF too but forgot to put the faux stitching on doh!! I went to Manchester yesterday with my husband to fetch his company car for his new job and we also visited the Trafford Centre and then an Arts & Crafts shop which took ages to find! I bought a little easel to stand my cards on to photograph which you can just see the bottom of in this pic.

I use Promarkers in Cinnamon, Tan & Putty for FF bears and blush for the nose bit and a teeny dot of Cerise on the cheeks and ears. It's really hard to photograph cards with mirri card because I can always see a bit of myself in the picture!
A couple of buttons with some silver twine to finish.

Thanks for lookin, Donna x

Happy Birthday Mam

Evening all,

I was asked by a friend at work to make a card for her 'mam' as cards in shops all say 'mum'. She left the design totally to me apart from she asked for one of those standy up ones with a button! (an easel card!)

This is what I came up with

Really hope she (and her mam) like it!
