Ruby Anniversary No.2

As promised (if a little late) here is another of the ruby anniversary cards I made for my friend Sue who's anniversary is on Sunday.

The idea of the two coloured heart is not mine - I found it on a google search ages ago and jotted in my book of things I might use one day! Glad I did because I think it's really effective.

Thanks for looking.

Ruby Anniversary

A work colleague will have been married 40 years on Sunday! I've had a few anniversary cards to make recently where the couples have married forever!!! Anyway, my friend Angela asked me to make a card for Sue (who's anniversary it is) and this is what I made. I made a similar card for my husband for one of our anniversaries a while back but I put bought flowers on it. These, I have made myself - soooo easy but very cute and I added a teeny self adhesive pearl so finish them off.

This card is suitable for lots of occasions simply by changing the colour scheme and the sentiment!

I made a card for Sue from myself and will post that tomorrow so be sure and pop back.

Thanks for looking.

Diamond Anniversary

My friends parents have been married for 60 years!!!! I was asked to make 3 cards for my friend and her sisters to give to their parents to celebrate the occasion and this is what I came up with.

I can't claim all these layouts as my own cos when I see one I like on the 'net I jot a sketch down and use it when the occasion seems right. So thank you to whoever sketched the layout for cards one and two!!

My friend loved the cards and hopefully her parents will too.

Hersheys Bags

I promised you some pics of a project that I have been working on and here they are!

I have posted pics of these teeny bags before which hold a single Hersheys nugget (which are gorgeous little chunks of chocoloate) but this time I wanted to make a larger bag to hold 6 of the little bags and this is what I came up with.

The bigger bag is the same design as the teeny ones, I just simply made it bigger! I have added a teeny velcro square as a closure for the big bag too.

45th Anniversary

A friend of mine has a friend whose parents are celebrating their 45th .... yes 45th!! wedding anniversary on saturday. 45 years is Sapphire so I went with the blue theme for the card.

I put glossy accents on this gorgeous butterfly before layering it up. This card is based around one I saw on Jellys blog a while ago - hope you don't mind V?

My friend really liked it and I'm hoping her friend will too!

New Home

Our lovely neighbour Lyn has moved on so we have new neighbours! I have made two of this card so I can send one to Lyn and give one to the new couple to welcome them to our Close.

I hope they all like it and soon settle into their new homes.

I have spent a few hours in my room of craft today and have a lovely project to show you soon (just need some velcro dots to finish it off) so please pop back and hopefully I will have it posted within a few days.

My mum is coming out of hospital tomorrow and me n hubby are fetching her so a long trip ahead. Nottingham to Hull then over to Withern (Lincs) then home again later! It will be worth it though to see mum. Just glad she's on the mend :)

Love U

It was hubby's birthday yesterday and this is the card I made for him.

Very simple but quite effective I think.

I got my brand new Stampin Up catalogue today - drool!!! There are some gorgeous new products in it. I can see I'm gonna have to sacrifice something (not sure what lol!!) so I can buy some new goodies!

On a personal note, my dad is out of hospital and mums op went well and she's on the mend. Such a relief I can tell ya!

Get Well Soon

My pops is in hospital at the mo as he's having a bit of a hard time. He's asthmatic, has brochiectasis and a heart problem - dropping to bits bless him!

I made him this card to try and cheer him up a bit.

This card was based loosely around one I made at a class at Victoria's a while back, combined with the gorgeous owl made to look like a nurse!

Dad loved it and a few of the nurses have made comment on it too and have asked if I have a business card!! Better get one made sharpish eh!!

Someone Special

OMG can't believe how long its been since I last blogged - slap my wrist!

I made this card for my SIL and I've made one 'for the box' too. I've got a box in my office for people to look through when they need a card.

Love the background paper - it's Stampin Up but I think its retired now :(

Anyhow, promise to try and be a better blogger but got a few family things going off right now so bear with me :)

Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge 36

Over at Ladybug Crafts Ink Challgenge blog, the challenge is to use your favourite stamp. It was a hard one but it had to be a Nikki and in the end I went for winestool Nikki - she's just sooo glamerous!

I used a heavy flocked background paper so I kept the rest of the card really simple and stuck to the b&w theme. I did make a layered flower for the top right corner but it looked too much so I left it off!

This is my second post today - I'm like a bus - none for ages and then two at once lol!!

Birthday Celebrations!

Thought I would share a few piccies of the cards I received on my birthday last week.

This one was made made by my lovely daughter Chloe. I let her loose in my craft room and this is what she came up with.  Pretty good for 13!

This is me and Chloe - she hates having her picture taken and never smiles!! And yes she was trying to go bozz eyed too!

This is one of the posters Chloe made for me while I was at work. It was lovely to come home to. There were 3 dotted around the room bless her - she loves me really!

Love You

I made this card for my husband for our 7th wedding anniversary which was last Saturday.

I made myself a circle template and sponged some pink and red ink through onto the white card and then stamped the hearts over the top, masking the first one before stamping the second heart. I then added some faux stitching around the edge to add some interest. The Love you sentiment and the hearts are from the same set and I think they're Papermania.

I've never made a bow like this before and was surprised to find out (after searching the 'net) that they're made in sections and stuck together and not tied at all!!! I think it's a better style of bow for a male card though.

Pick a Petal

I went to a card class on Saturday held by the lovely Victoria (Blue Jelly). All the cards were made using the pick a petal stamp set from Stampin Up. These are some of the cards we made.

This ladybird one was my fave :))

I also collected my club order so I have some lovely new things to 'play' with including a crop a dile bought for me by my lovely hubby for my birthday tomorrow. I've got a big bite already but it's so heavy! Great for scrapbooking but a bit too bulky for cards so I'm looking forward to having a go with it.

Back to work tomorrow for me after 5 weeks off :(( I'll still try and blog regularly so be sure to pop back soon :))

More of the Same

I posted a card for my Less is More entry the other day and I liked the simplicity of the card so much I decided to make a few more but with different colours and images.

This card design is so simple and so versatile too. As you can see, it is suitable for males and females just by changing the image and the colours of the card. I will defo be making a batch of these to keep in my draw at work! All the images are from Stampin Up's 'Every Little Bit' set.

Best Wishes

One of my work colleagues is having a birthday the week after next and I am trying to get ahead of myself a bit so I have made her this card ready for the big day!

I love the rose paper (I think it was from Hobbycraft) and only have a bit left now but the stampin up sahara sand cardstock goes perfectly with it! The stamped image is from Marion Emberson and I have just sponged a bit of sahara sand ink around it. The best wishes sentiment is a Penny Black stamp.

Less Is More week 29

This week over at Less Is More, it is 'Theme' week and the theme is something that moves. I'm sure there will be a lot of butterflies featuring on cards this week as they are very 'in' and of course they move! I am no exeption and my butterfly is from the Stampin Up Bliss set from sale-a-bration.

I have used rich razzleberry and regal rose inks and papers and the sentiment is from the 'So happy for you' set also from sale-a-bration.

I am on my last weeks holiday from work now and am not looking forward to going back :(( Never mind, if I want to keep buying stash then I suppose I'll have to go back lol!!

Thanks for looking.
