Sketch Saturday no. 151

Well, this is yet another card I am entering into a challenge. Sketch Saturday this time. I needed to do a male card for a work colleague whose birthday is next week. I do find male cards quite difficult as you are limited by colours and embellishments! No flowers or gems really so I thought I'd go with buttons - haven't used them on a card for a loooong time!

I used some grey SU card and some stripey paper from my never ending stash lol! I couldn't think of a suitable image so I went with the Happy Birthday sentiment repeated randomly. I still think it's lacking 'something' but I nearly always feel this way with male cards. A card to me is not quite complete without a gem or 3!!

Thanks for looking.

Last 3 Birthday cards

Well, here are the final 3 cards from my selection of 10 for a friend.

The first 2 cards are made using Nikki stamps from Ladybug Crafts Ink. I love these stamps.

Close up of lovely Nikki.

Simple layering and a few gems along with a die cut strip add interest to this card.

This is my attempt at making a card without a stamp. I don't do too many of them but I think this turned out OK.

Forever Friends Birthday Card

Post 2  for today.

This card is for my BIL whose birthday is next weekend. Entered into Card Patterns sketch #71. I was going to enter into FF too but forgot to put the faux stitching on doh!! I went to Manchester yesterday with my husband to fetch his company car for his new job and we also visited the Trafford Centre and then an Arts & Crafts shop which took ages to find! I bought a little easel to stand my cards on to photograph which you can just see the bottom of in this pic.

I use Promarkers in Cinnamon, Tan & Putty for FF bears and blush for the nose bit and a teeny dot of Cerise on the cheeks and ears. It's really hard to photograph cards with mirri card because I can always see a bit of myself in the picture!
A couple of buttons with some silver twine to finish.

Thanks for lookin, Donna x
